From an estate known for its tea production, featuring big tropical notes admired in Kenyan coffees.
While visiting the Dormans facility in Kenya this February our Owner, Andy and Green Buyer, Chris were utterly impressed (and surprised) at this lot’s performance on the cupping table. Generally the best lots can be found during the middle of the harvest, but this one from Kibenda Tea Estates is from the earlier part of the harvest and makes for an obvious exception.
Located in the central town of Limuru, Kibenda Estates’ primary focus is tea production, but they also produce excellent coffees. This is a fully washed, high altitude coffee comprised of SL28 and SL34 varietals with zesty tropical flavours and a balanced acidity.
