As a respected producer and agronomist (an expert in the science of soil management and crop production) Don Fabio Ruiz Vargas uses his skills to grow rare and unique coffees. You may recall an extremely limited run of his low-caffeine varietal ‘Laurina’ for example. The Vargas family farm is located near the fertile slopes of the Central Valley’s Poás Volcano where they have been pioneers of coffee production for more than 70 years.
This Geisha varietal is, as Don Fabio would have it, particularly unique and delicious. Honey processed by none other than Francisco Mena of Sumava de Lourdes fame, the duo created a coffee that showcases the hallmark qualities of both washed and natural Geishas. This is a very smooth, balanced coffee with a wonderfully velvety mouthfeel.
