A true single origin lot from the world-class growing region of Yirgacheffe in southern Ethiopia.
Producer, Tiqiset Wakqo operates a small farm in Idido Village in the famed Yirgacheffe District, known for producing some of the highest quality coffees in the world. At the age of 39, he has worked in coffee his entire adult life alongside 1000 other farmers who grow coffee on small plots near their homes. Farmers in this region typically send their cherries to the wet mill where their lots are bulked together, but on rare occasions such as this, a single farmer lot is kept separate for auction. Grown at high altitude and naturally processed, Tiqiset Wakqo has rich fruity notes that define premium coffees of Yirgacheffe. Accompanied by a wonderfully syrupy body, these characteristics lead Pilot Coffee Barista, Katherine Gao to select this as her competition coffee for this year’s National Brewers Cup. With special thanks to our importer partners at Keffa Coffee we are very fortunate to share a true single origin - one lot, one producer - from Ethiopia.
