The Umoja (Swahili for “unity”) Ululu American Marketing Cooperative Society (AMCOS) serves over 250 smallholder coffee farmers and represents about four different villages in the region. Co-op farmers deliver their cherry in the afternoons, where it is depulped through the evening. Their coffees then go through a wet fermentation process for 24 to 48 hours before being washed and dried on tables for approximately two weeks.

This AMCOS is chaired by the local pastor from Ululu village who is determined to establish and maintain a trusting relationship, and create unity between the contributing producers.
