URAGA – ETHIOPIA

$19.00

Israel Degfa is a huge name in Ethiopian coffee. He is the owner of 26 washing stations and Ana Sora, a farm that has attracted a cult following. When Israel changes how things are done, it makes a huge impact on specialty coffee in the country.

Our green buyer, Chris visited Uraga Station in early 2018 and witnessed their extensive efforts to continue improving quality: cherry floatation tanks, specially assigned quality teams for the highest quality lots, and premiums paid to certified producers. This particular lot comes from various smallholder farmers in the Guji Zone in the Oromia Region who've had their cherries processed at Uraga. It is an especially floral coffee with malic acidity akin to green apples, and a silky mouthfeel.
