WHAT GOT FOOLS + HORSES STARTED?In 2014 Fools & Horses was founded by five foolhardy individuals who believe in starting from scratch, and sharing something fresh, friendly and local. We wanted to create accessible spaces, a welcoming culture and a home to share great coffee. Life is full of change, and over five years the company transitioned ownership from five down to two. We’ve grown to four locations and 20+ employees, but remain passionate about free spirited ventures and will risk it all to ride out dreams. Throughout this growth Pilot has been an invaluable partner, providing consultation, layout support, maintenance, training and an excellent product lineup. They have sent teams from Toronto all the way to Winnipeg to offer their expertise and ensure our launches were a success. We would not be where we are without them! WHAT KEPT YOU GOING AND MADE YOU SO SUCCESSFUL?Fools + Horses was founded with a steadfast commitment to our community, staff and environment. We strive to create welcoming, inclusive spaces that promote safety, equity and sustainability. We hire a diverse group of creative and hardworking people, pay living wages and create a respectful, exciting and challenging work environment. We work towards our goal of becoming a carbon-neutral company by reducing, reusing, composting and recycling. It’s really our commitments that keep us going. Our success is largely supported by Pilot who has been a fantastic and accessible mainstay roaster. They provide a range of coffee offerings that appeal to all tastes. Our regulars love knowing they can always get Monument on batch brew and our Heritage espresso wins praise for its perfect balance. Meanwhile, we can bring in their more adventurous roasts, which keep folks coming back for more. They are the backbone of our product offering and their consistent excellence allows us to tackle all the other objectives of our company!
